You also get a 90 day warranty on the engine from a BUSINESS that specializes in selling Japanese imported engines to shops, they've been around for like 20 years and I've bought probably 20 engines from them over 12 years....there not a shady person or a junkyard...if you had been paying attention. If you're looking for a Y8 they probably have 10-15 over there right now for you to choose from.

but if he wants to boost the car, why not build a motor that can handle boost for around the $500 for a stock motor. If he wants to drive the car, and keep it stock then your way would be the best.

That pretty much sums it up, forged internals aren't that expensive, and if I get a good deal on a Y8 block, why not?

since it sounds like he will build this motor over a long time, they may have the new rods out by then so he wont have to notch the block. plus those rods they plan to keep under $300.
