I know, the colors!!!!! The hand drawn animation!!!!!Dolby vision and atmos you say........ Hmmmm indeed.
As for multi-channel audio? I never found the original to be all that impressive there, so don't really care much about the audio side.
But the remastered video? If they really went back to the masters, and the masters were kept in good condition, that is going to look amazing.
Best Buy has this for $7.99 right now in the their black friday deals! Just ordered it
I just did Pickup for T2 + GitS 4K for $16. Most excellent. Will be ready in 1 hr.
So, digging into this.
The 25th anniversary remaster is how it was originally released in theaters, without the extra CGI re-work done in the 2008 revamp Ghost in the Shell 2.0.
Also, added to Plex.
Along with Westworld Season 3, in 4K even. Now I get to watch it, cause I decided to wait until the 4K was released so I didn't have to watch it with streaming compression artifacts.
