IT seems like whenever I have a detail during the "summer" months its 90+ degrees.
:fu: Sweat is a good thing right ?
Anyways, 2013 Dodge Charger... Was a dealer demo so I can only imagine automatic washes 1-2 times a week for the length of the "demo"
Not much else since then other than basic washes.
The.paint.was.....HAMMERED ! You will soon see.
Even Understated Detailing sent me a message on IG saying to get out the rotary. Well, No rotary here and the owner was okay with more of a paint enhancement than a full correction.

Process:
Optimum Power clean 2:1 on the tires
Autofanatic wheels cleaner via iK foam 9 @ 12:1
Once clean, the wheels received Iron X and rinsed
Received a light polish with the PC, 4" white polishing pad and Menzerna super intensive polish.
Finally, protected with wheel wax

Body was rinsed and Iron X was applied
1/2 way through the IronX stage, pre soak with Griot's Garage Foaming surface wash.
Rinsed and then washed with Chemical Guys clean slate ( "strip wash" ).
Rinsed and then clayed using Nanoskin glide and the Nanoskin handy towel
Final rinse and dry.

I did exactly what Larry K @ Ammo NYC and Kevin Brown say not to do.
Try a bunch of pads and a bunch of products trying to figure out what works.
IT was tough but again, the paint was BAD, so I wanted to be sure I found the best results with essentially a single step.
End Result:
Yellow Rupes polishing pad via Rupes LHR 15 Mark 2 + 2 drops of menzerna super intensive polish and 2 drops of Griot's Fast correcting cream.
( I did try Rupes' medium polishing wool pad and found it to leave some holograms on the hood. It should be known that the paint on the hood was not that great, I believe it's fiberglass and some areas looked like over spray ? )
Panel wipe was done with Car Pro Eraser
Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant via PC and 4" red finishing pad.

enough blabbing, on to the pictures.

As it arrived:

Your skill set is amazing.

not bad for a weekend warrior, thanks !!

Dayyyyum.

very happy with the pixel 3 for pictures...probably makes everything look better than it is

Looks great. How long did it take you?

started @ 8am, car was parked and everything cleaned up @ 7pm.
There were some A/C breaks and about 30 mins for lunch...so I'd say a solid 9.5-10hrs work on the car

Any scratches with the Nano skin? What level did you use? Have you done a comparison between it, clay and the Mothers?

I'm not sure if it is something that I am doing ( process for decontamination and washing ) or if I have just been EXTREMELY lucky but I have no micro marring to report with this nanoskin towel.
It is in between fine and medium. Knowing the history of this car ( owner is the WHSE mgr at work ) I knew it was going to need more than the fine grade mitt from Chemical guys.

I have not used mother's speed clay.
I obviously have used a typical clay bar. I'm not sure how much of an actual comparison it is but I did make a video a few years ago. It was my first use of the CG mitt and their OG clay bar.
I used the mitt and then followed up with the clay. The clay bar did not remove any more contaminants.

The mitts or towels are just so much easier and faster to work with. Plus if they hit the ground, they can be rinsed..... clay bars would have to be thrown away.

Here is a link for the one I used:
