based on a huge book series (4 books) called A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin. reminds me of a much darker lord of the rings. i guess the tv adaption is staying pretty faithful to the books as well.

first 12 minutes..

HBO.com

premiers april 17th. i guess its a good thing i get hbo free for 6 months. :fy:

Long ago, in a time forgotten, a preternatural event threw the seasons out of balance. In a land where summers can last decades and winters a lifetime, trouble is brewing. The cold is returning, and in the frozen wastes to the north of Winterfell, sinister and supernatural forces are massing beyond the kingdom’s protective Wall. At the center of the conflict lie the Starks of Winterfell, a family as harsh and unyielding as the land they were born to. Sweeping from a land of brutal cold to a distant summertime kingdom of epicurean plenty, here is a tale of lords and ladies, soldiers and sorcerers, assassins and bastards, who come together in a time of grim omens. Here an enigmatic band of warriors bear swords of no human metal; a tribe of fierce wildlings carry men off into madness; a cruel young dragon prince barters his sister to win back his throne; and a determined woman undertakes the most treacherous of journeys. Amid plots and counterplots, tragedy and betrayal, victory and terror, the fate of the Starks, their allies, and their enemies hangs perilously in the balance, as each endeavors to win that deadliest of conflicts: the game of thrones.

I started listening to a podcast that stared on Season 6 Episode 1. It couldn't be more perfect because I was starting to be disappointed in season 6. It was like half good half what the fuck is happening. Which makes sense since that is when they started out pacing the books, and by the end of that season pretty much everyone was past the books. Anyway its great to hear the wild theories, and call back to the good seasons. They are also starting to see the cracks though, but are trying to brush it off. Like complaining about dialogue of the sand snakes. This should be like watchin a train wreck as they work through the last 3 seasons :D

Also I hate the Bran as king ending. If that's the case, I'm hoping the people are right that Bloodraven is controlling Bran to gain the throne back.
It really makes no sense to me, it seemed like they were trying to be controversial with that. Imagine the small folk, and how they would react. All that shit that has gone down, most of which they wouldnt know about, and then they are like OK guys here is this weird cripple kid of a traitor who is now your king. Hurry up and bend the knee so we can wrap this up!

"I understand some people thought it was rushed and I might agree with them," Harrington continued. "But I’m not sure there was any alternative. I look at pictures of me in that final season and I look exhausted. I look spent. I didn't have another season in me.

"Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I think there were mistakes made, story wise, towards the end maybe. I think there were some interesting choices that didn’t quite work."
