And finished the series. As much as this season got shit and tons of hate, it wasn't enough. Awful. Just awful. House of Dragon is 10x the show this is.

That being said, I'd still watch the shit out of a Jon Snow sequel series. I hope they eventually decide to green light that (again).

I'm rewatching this, will be the 2nd show I've ever rewatched all the way through (the first being Expanse). Currently on S3 ep7 and can't wait to see Joffrey die next season

It is unbelievable how many different aspects there are to this show that they did such a great job building up...only to completely botch it once it all comes together

Only other series I can watch start to finish like GoT has been The Sopranos.

So I'm putting together a theory. They started low key showing daenerys was NOT such a giving queen very early on. Yes, she was releasing slaves but only so that they would join her army and kill and sack more cities under the veil of "freedom". She was cunning and ruthless. I'm almost done with s3 so we'll see if I still feel this way by the end but they started to build her up to actually be a terrible ruler right around s3.

They knew how they wanted her to end up early on, but it was a switch flip over a few episodes vs more gradual. Even with thr shit she was doing, they always made her out to be the hero. Until the last season, so it felt less authentic.

Still the most shocking moment in TV history.
It hits WAY harder in the books. I was falling asleep, trying to get through another boring Caitlin chapter when it slowly unfolds. I was like wait, what did I just read and went back and re-read the first little indicator it was going down. Then shit hits the fan and I was freaking out! I woke up my wife who was way behind me at this point anyway.

The biggest thing is the books are all first person from each character. The chapter before Arya pulls up outside with the hound, and you're kind of like I guess thats the end of that. Then its a Caitlin chapter, which at that point are super boring. Shit goes down, and you remember that Arya is outside, so then it goes to her. Its WILD outside because remember the King of the North has an army, and they are all outside. The chapter ends with everything going black. I think its the hound riding toward her and then black actually. That was when I really was like HOLY SHIT! I flipped through the rest of the book, to see what happened. Mind you this is around the middle of the book. NO MORE ARYA CHAPTERS!! You have no idea what happened to her until the next book.
