Did anyone watch the GoT Documentary? I watched it last night and thought it was alright. It was crazy to see just how massive the overall production was. So many people did such great work for this show, and for so many years. Really a kick in the nuts to have the writing be so bad in the end.

It is a little, they kind of spend too much time with only a few people. I am sure a lot of that had to do with how locked down everything was. At the same time I appreciate that they had the actors in it VERY little since the focus was on the crew.
So, I was listening to the CBS Fantasy Football podcast, and they had a special guest on Friday. The guy who wrote Die Hard and other action flicks. It was actually a cool interview to listen to regarding movies.
Anyway, GoT came up, and the dude said something that I think makes sense. They made longer episodes, but less of them. If it was spanned out to say 9 episodes, with even all of the same things, but cut differently, it might be received differently by the masses.
Add a couple scenes, cut it different, leave everything else the same, I think I agree with that statement.

Surprising no one, a special collectors edition bluray set is coming out Dec 3rd. Actually looks kinda cool. No pricing info yet, but I'm always a sucker for these things..

They work well as coasters. That's what my Kingdom of the Crystal Skull works as from my Indiana Jones Blu Ray box set.
In fact, not totally sure why anyone buys tv box sets anymore
If you have some oddball series you like, that's not on the major streaming services, I could see it. But not for shows like GoT or the like.
