Just picture all of us naked

It’s not a stagefright thing at all, I just sounds like a monotone teacher giving a lecture. I’m also long winded and give out every detail. I find myself rambling as if the video needs to be 30 minutes long. I’m sure it all comes with practice.

I’ll probably do a video series on both of the flip trucks. There’s some interesting stuff to note on each, like how I factor in the accessories on the flatbed truck that get stripped off and sold separately. IDK, I think it would be interesting enough that people would watch.

Another fun aside...

Idk if anyone remembers my WS6 Formula at this point, but long story short I bought the car in March of 2017 with a drivetrain vibration, tore it apart to find a botched clutch install which wiped the rear main bearings. It’s sat as a roller since mid ‘17.

Well I found a donor car at my fleet auction where the trucks came from today. Was a seizure from Aurora. Rear end damaged ‘01 WS6 T/A. 86,000 mile car. Great running engine. LS6 intake, 100% stock. Good interior to replace the dry and cracked desert interior in my car.

So aside from the rust free Suburban I made the other thread for, I got these two from the local yard in Beloit.

2012 Silverado 3500. 6.0 gas 2wd. I had one of these earlier this year and it was a nice, easy sale.

2009 Ford Ranger. 2.3 Auto 2wd. 119,000 miles. Absolutely spotless rust wise. The company I get these from don’t use them in the winter so they just sit in their shop. Same company that 2003 I had came from.

With the auctions being a bit slower than usual and profits following suit, in going back to doing some cherry picking of rust free stuff from out-of-state, bringing them home, minting them out and selling. These won’t be fleet vehicles for the most part, but probably far more entertaining for you guys. There will be longer trips involved, probably half of them will be just driving to an area with an empty trailer, finding something suitable and hauling it home. That’s where the 3/4 ton Suburban comes in. I’ll be able to throw a nice thick foam pad or mattress back there, cut out some black out shades to Velcro to the windows and have a nice little sleeping area. I was considering a van for this, but the lack of 4x4 ultimately led me to the Suburban.

Annnnnnd more farm equipment. Finally some implements that I’ve been wanting for my own use.

First is a Massey Harris 44. Very nice restoration. These are right about 46-48 horsepower so it should be able to handle a haybine and small square baler. It’s not an end-all tractor, but it’ll work for now and the price was right. I’d love to keep the 4020 but that’s not in the cards right now. I even went as far as to list this Massey for sale, as I’d rather find a Super M for this job and I won’t be making hay this year as it is. But for now I’ll use it while it’s listed.

Second is an Oliver 415 sickle bar mower. These were actually made by Cockshutt implement and then bought out by White/Oliver. Has PTO output to run a crimper/conditioner if I wanted to make hay with it. Otherwise they’re just great for mowing under fences. Got one that’s ready to go and a duplicate of it missing the sickle bar for $30 for parts. Has a perfect gearbox, all the arms, pulleys, springs, wheels and the hitch point for the crimper/conditioner.

Lastly is a New Idea 5’ brush hog. I have been looking for one of these for ages. They’re hard to find with a drawbar as my old shit doesn’t have 3pt.

I got the tractor, both sickle mowers and the brush hog for under $2,000. GREAT sale.

Man, that's a good deal.

How does that bushog raise and lower? Do you put a cylinder on it? I've never seen a drawbar version.

Yeah they’re fucking impossible to find since they haven’t been the standard since the 60’s lol. But if you want to brush hog with an old tractor they’re the most reasonable option. Most of them essentially have a ratchet binder on them you use to raise and lower, but you can put a cylinder in its place rather easily. I’ll probably do that on this one.

4020 sold yesterday. Was happy to free up that money for some other stuff. Fleet auction tomorrow with 200ish lots at the Beloit yard. A lot of newer, low mile stuff so the prices are already strong. Might end up with something, might not. Have four trucks to sell with paperwork in order as of Friday that have yet to be fixed/detailed since I’ve been on my ass with COVID for two weeks. I’m not going to be overly disappointed if nothing new comes in, but we’ll see.

I could use a low mile c7.

Did you end up making pretty good money on the 4020?

I didn’t make shit lol. Paid $12,000. Sold $13,500. Whatever, I was happy to own one for a bit. I’ll get another. There was a syncro with a turbo engine in it that went for $5,600 a few sales ago. I’ll get something like that for the fun of it when I’ve got the space and disposible funds.

Damn. I was thinking you bought it for less than $10k for some reason.
