Since a lot of you like trucks and equipment like me, I'm making a thread with what I've got laying around currently. What's staying (for now), what's for sale, where it came from, etc.

As many of you know, the company I own buys/sells heavy equipment and commercial trucks. Admittedly, I really only end up buying trucks that I like so a few of them end up staying around or replacing something else that I own already. Most of you know about El Malo and my silver WS6 Formula already, so this will focus on my other shit.

I'll just make new posts with pics that I take at the auctions of cool stuff, stuff that I buy, the trucks that I have in cool pictures or towing cool shit. IDK, just randomness that encompasses my life and business. I'll even post links to cool trucks in upcoming online auctions.

Here are my current "keep" trucks that are plated, insured and currently driven for work.

-2012 F-350 Lariat. My DD. Deleted/Tuned 6.7 Diesel. Fun truck, currently for sale. Replacement TBD

KlrLVza.jpg

2001 Ford F-350. 7.3 PSD. 250,000 miles. 100% Mechanically stock when I got it, SCT Tuner only now. Never seen road salt, a toy to me but I work it in the summers.

2003 GMC Yukon 3/4 Ton 4x4. 6.0 LQ4. 319,000 miles currently. Bought it for parts for $1,000. (frame for my gray yukon that was involved in an accident). Drove too nice. I've put just about 10,000 miles on it this year. Just discovered the frame is rotted right between the rear leaf and where the hitch bolts up. Not sure what is going to happen with it yet, still driving it every day to the farm and back, just no more towing.

1997 Ford F-250 HD. 5.8/auto/4x4. 130,000 miles. Stupid straight, always stored inside ex Prospect Heights municipal truck. One of my plow trucks. Going to slap cab corners and rockers in it in the spring. Maybe a flatbed once the bed is too far gone. LOVE this truck.

1993 Chevy K2500. TBI 350/700r4. 90,000 miles. Back-up plow truck, pretty much use it as a SxS around the farm fixing fences and such. This will be its last year plowing (frame is rusted through in the front). It'll live out its days picking up hay and fixing fences around Harvard.

2011 Ford Ranger. 2.3 auto 2wd. 160,000 miles. I just bought this Tuesday 1/21/20. Needs a transmission but was owned by a tree service so it's very very clean. I'm starting up a new business doing lawn aeration so I'll be fabricating a bi-fold ramp tailgate so that two guys and two aerators can fit in the bed. Perfect little truck for the task.

These are the trucks currently for sale.

2011 Ford F-550 4x4. 6.7 PSD. 195,000 miles. I wish I could find a reason to keep this. I love it so much. Used it occasionally in the few months I've had it.

2012 Ford F-250 4x4. 6.2 gas. 214k miles. Nothing special. I get a lot of these in and out the door.

2011 Ford F-250 4x4. 6.2 gas. Same as the one above. Just a typical in and out flip.

The 2011 Ranger was a fun little "win" for me. I often roll the dice on the "NOT RUNNING - CONDITION UNKNOWN" Trucks. Most have ended up being very simple fixes like a broken wire that was partially cut when an upfitter was doing strobes, bad IPR in a 6.0 PSD, etc etc. This one was a "not running, electrical issues" truck. Dash didn't display mileage, no crank/no start.

PCM Relay and starter relay were missing. Grille, headlights, rear bumper and a taillight as well. I threw some relays in and it started displaying mileage and seeming like it wanted to work. Robbed a battery out of another truck and it fired right up. Engine is silent, no ticks, noises or drama... Phew lol. Go to put it in reverse to go test drive it. Barely creeps back at like 4,000 RPM. Gay. Same in forward.

I'm not mad about it. I saw one with equivalent miles sell for $2,900 in a sale a week ago listed as having a blown trans with visible rust in the doors and bedside. With fees I'm in this truck $1,365. Even if I'm $3,000 into it driving down the road these late-model rangers in clean condition bring $5,500+ all day.

This is essentially what I'm going for with the tailgate. Somewhat similar to what you see motorcycle dealers use to transport bikes in full size trucks.

This is one of the ideas floating around in my head for what to do with the Yukon's powertrain now that I can't safely use it for towing anymore due to the frame crack. Thinking about converting it to 4x4, not sure how hard it is on the GMT800's but I know the front suspension/hubs are all the same, you need to swap trans and t-case and shorten rear driveshaft. IDK. Just an idea, and would be a nice hauler/ plow and salting truck in the winters. I'd probably be a buyer in the $1,500-$2,000 hammer price range.

This one is in an online sale that ends next week. I'd love to remove the bucket. 10-lug OBS F-SUPERDUTY 7.3 in California. Rust free with 34,000 original miles.

And here's a personal favorite... I wish I was a good mechanic and/or motivated enough to try and get the side work needed to make owning this worthwhile.

2001 Ford F550 4x4 Mechanics Service Truck, 7.3L diesel, Auto, A/C, with STI air compressor, STI 8,000 lb. material crane, (Exempt from Odometer Disclosure - Reads 86,374 miles) (runs, drives)

PTO Driven on board air, 8000# crane, welding leads on spools... Drop a 250 Bobcat on it and go make some money.

Yeah it's a bit excessive. I'm trying to thin the herd down a bit at this point. Yukon and my 2012 F-350 are probably going to be replaced by a 2015+ GMC/Chevy 2500 crew cab with a gas engine. Just a basic work truck trim as long as it has all the power convenience options. Since I drive my 7.3 so much in the summer my 6.7 sits, and since I don't do a ton of heavy towing in the winters I don't need the power of a diesel and the cold weather headaches that accompany it.

Essentially this. Vinyl seats, rubber floor. Power windows, locks, mirrors, A/C, cruise. 6.0/6L80/4x4 with tow package and 3.73's.

I know in a year or two I'll want a loaded pretty boy diesel again, but, as of right now I just don't care. I'm way too anal about my nice stuff and it gets old always worrying about every little ding and dent and scratch and rust bubble. At this point in my life I don't need two trucks that get treated like people's Corvette's and shit. So work truck it is.

Got bored tonight and threw some Lucas in the Ranger trans. Well worth the $9 price of admission for the bottle. 1-2 work, 3-4 and Reverse not so great. At least I was able to put 5ish miles on it in my neighborhood and determine the truck drives great and I'm not throwing good money after bad putting a trans in it.

F-550 sold Monday. Ranger trans was removed today and sent off to get rebuilt. I got absolutely annahilated in an online auction on Tuesday, 16 year old 2wd trucks with midwestern rust selling for $6,000+. I wouldn't have been asking that for them retail lol. Oh well, some good stuff in two weeks.

Prime example. I've got a couple 6.4s from the same fleet I maintain.

1 is on its 4th engine, and that engine is getting tired. I just did $12k worth of work to the fuel system mainly... Driver said they will do whatever it takes to not buy new trucks. I even quoted a new engine instead of fuel work... Lol

I'm considering snagging this as a winter DD for when 7.3 is in storage instead of one of the 15+ GMC's. Not because I don't want a GMC, but, this being a single wheel 1-ton truck with a crane body is pretty fucking rare. Would be very convenient for me.

2012 F-350 4x4. 6.2 Gas. 158,000 miles. Rust-free truck out of New Mexico.

I don't doubt it. I'd do a Cummins conversion after the 2nd engine shit the bed lol. Even if you were all-in to do a common rail conversion $15,000 it's still better than doing an engine every oil change lol.
