125hours and just beat it with most side quests done. Played it with my kids so they liked it. I really liked the remixing they did for it while staying really close to the original story. It was about what I was expecting

I'm just about 20 hours in. Just getting to the Junon parade. Play a slow play but getting in time here and there. I liked Remake better so far, but it's still wayyyyy early.

I liked remake a lot. Out of all the original story the Midgar parts always stood out to me as more memorable although rebirth does a great job hitting all the key moments. I did all the side stuff and it wasn’t the most memorable but I liked it a lot. Just getting better gear and material made it worth while. I never really used the summon material. Relied heavily on abilities, synergy, and spell materia linked with a lot of blue material. Get familiar with the purple support materia. Especially the auto ability ones. Can’t remember the one you get from niblehiem but it’s an auto spell cast any time an ally uses an ability that costs no MP. I linked that to comet and spammed abilities so it was constantly raining commits. Hilarious and effective. 🤣

Did you play hard mode at all? In Remake hard mode was heavily reliant on yellow materia for healing and what not. And I got so used to that it's kinda the way I've been playing. Is Rebirth similar?

I don’t think hard mode was unlocked until I beat it. I think it’s in the chapter select now. If I had to do the Rufus fight in hard mode I’d rather take a bath with a toaster plugged into the wall

Yeah it's after you beat the whole game. If it's the same as remake, then MP doesn't restore the entire chapter and you can't use items either. Such a rewarding mode. I loved it so damn much in Remake.

Seeing you guys talk about this has me excited to play after I beat 16. Limiting Mt social media stuffs has definitely les me back to being able to enjoy sitting down and playing the thing again.

Just got over 60 hours in now. I'm on Chapter 11. Gave up playing for a little bit because I was annoyed with some of the side quests. Think I was just being grumpy, since I've been enjoying it since I picked it back up.

There is definitely a lot to do. I don't mind that. Just some of the mini games are ridiculously obnoxious. Like the stupid ass Moogle round up mini game. Shits so obnoxious.

I've somehow clocked 84 hours in this game and I haven't even finished it. I'm doing most of the side content, but definitely not all. The gameplay is amazing.

My biggest gripe is there is just too much side content. Way too much. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but the way it's presented makes it play a bit like Mario Party, with just 100 different types of mini-games. Half of which are controller throwing levels of aggravating.

I'll absolutely finish it out and then go back around and do hard mode. At this rate by the time I get through all the content, the 3rd game will be close to release.

93 hours to complete the first run through the game. I don't think I've ever spent that on an initial playthrough. And almost none of it felt grindy. I'm shocked. Game really grew on me in the end game.

Although I'm not sure how I feel about the story at the end there. It was interesting. I may need to go through it again to see how I feel.

They did a pretty good job at making Cloud kinda unlikeable. Which is hard to do.
