I want to build one of these so bad... I need to snag an express van at auction and just go to town, looks like that could be mostly duplicated for relatively cheap if you got creative (read: without using name brand new things)

I doubt I could, that's why I've been looking for sprinters lol.

Making it function is intense, but, you just find enough layouts others have toiled over and come up with what fits your needs and duplicate it.

I'd do a diesel heater though vs. wood fire for the ability to heat water with it.

Valve is calibrated for diesel but can be re-calibrated for kerosene or stove oil.
1 turn hot water coil for 5-10 gal can be installed for water heating.

Fuel Consumption / 24hr:
1.29 gal LOW
3.20 gal HIGH

Heat Output:
Low: 6500 BTU
High: 16250 BTU

even the mr buddy's would work in a pinch when you needed heat in a setup like that though too...

True, but I'm a sucker for hard mounted/plumbed in items, the cost is high but it's a one and done type application. What I like about his stove though is that you could transport it if need be, say you had a small cabin or winter tent, you could utilize it for that as well.
