Little trail jogging running today.
I did pick up blue-sunās high end New Balance running shoes. But the most benefit Iāll get is theyāre great walking shoes.
Sucks too cause I used to be great at running and cross-country. Motorcycle accident almost tore my leg off below the right knee. Itās been in bad shape since. That was 2006.

Just did a 2.7 mile walk, the last 100m I jogged.
Iām done jogging for this year. That really hurt my knees.

Did some hiking up in Dodgeville, WI today with the kids as we prepare for Yosemite in 2 weeks. Had a blast with them!

Thanks man! I was surprised/impressed with the descents and climbs along the hike. Had to keep my youngest positive every time we on an ascent ?
Iām planning on doing a ride tomorrow morning. Trying to decide if I should do the Wauponsee Glacial Trail from Joliet (Laraway Rd) to the Kankakee River, and back. Or the Illinois & Michigan Canal Trail from Joliet (Rockdale) to Morris, and back.
First is right at 40 miles round trip, second would be about 52 miles round trip, maybe a bit more if I did a lap around Moose Island.

Been doing some bike riding, I was running 3 miles every 2-3 days but my ankles started to hurt so bad I could barley walk the day after been on the bike for a couple weeks again now
Nice recovery run near Carmel Indiana. Nice bike path to ride and run. Nicely covered with trees and flat.Time for lots of eggs and bloody Maryās. Off to Indy 500!!!!
Well, my ride didnāt start too well. Grabbed the wrong shoes, cross trainers instead of my cycling shoes. So my feet are sliding all over the pedals.
Forgot my ear buds at home. I donāt normally use them, but if I need some motivation I like to have them.
I then rode away from the truck leaving my hydration pack and snacks behind. Had to go back for them.
The cycling shoes would have been a huge help with this headwind. Itās so strong it ripped this flag:

This is disappointing. The section from Symerton going south that used to be hard packed dirt and billiard table smooth, like riding on pavement, has been filled over with medium sized semi-packed gravel.
This is just brutal. Maybe if I had a big tire bicycle It would be rideable. I donāt see myself coming back.

Not doing this again. Fuck my quads are killing me. Canāt recall them ever hurting this much before. Need to stop on way home to get ice pack for them and my ass. Talk about saddle sore.

Played with the Garmin headlight I got. Holy shit it is brighter than I expected. Run time on high is only 1.5 hours but I donāt think Iāll need it that bright that often.
The phoneās camera is adjusting a bit for being dark out, but not much.

Yeah, I don't use the brightest setting on my bike light either. It's really not necessary, even in areas with no light. It's supposed to get 5 hours on the brightest setting.
It still doesn't stop some knuckleheads from seeing me at times. If I could stand riding with it flashing, I would.

Question, if you are familiar with it... I was planning on parking over at Mundelein High School and going west from there. Do you foresee any issues with that, or a better place to park in the area?
