Ive had mine since Sept. I got it with under 20 miles on it. My car has 16k miles on it and it only knows 2 speeds. 83mph with cruise set or parked. No ticking and Ive changed the oil 3 times myself with Motorcraft 5-20 semi synthetic and oem Motorcraft filters.

Maybe people pussyfoot their cars?

Well, that is a good question. It has always clattered. Not a tick, a clatter. I could never tell where it came from. So I guess we will see if it is still there when I get the transmission done. Its not a "tick", mine doesn't do that.

I've always suspected that it was the engine though.

Only sound on mine is what seems like converter noise. My Navigator did the same thing. Like 1800-2200 low rpm lug.

But everything functions properly so F it.
