About 4-5 weeks ago my brother in law drove through an unmarked section of road with “fresh oil” construction going on and got tar all over the his newish (bought early this year) F-250.

He asked me to help clean it up and we did a few weeks ago, using all kinds of nasty chemicals to get the tar off, including diesel fuel right out of his tank. At that time I told him to order some CarPro UK 3.0 coating and I’d find a weekend to make sure there’s no more tar on the paint and to finally ceramic coat it.

The paint wasn’t in bad shape at all. I did a rinseless wash on all the paint, then did a quick polish of the paint and applied the ceramic coating.

Polished with Megiuars M205 and an orange Lake Country polishing pad. A few spots got M205 with a yellow cutting pad followed by the M205 and orange pad.

50/50 IPA wipe down of the whole car.

2 coats of CarPro UK 3.0 applied and wiped off.

Took me about 7 hours to do the truck due to the sheer size of it.

Emptied my cabinet into the GTI and included my scaffolding ladder to reach the hood and roof. I had to get in the bed to get to the middle foot of the roof along with opening the doors and standing on my tip toes to reach that middle part.

Truck wasn’t too bad when I go there, though the silver hides a lot of crimes.

That looks like a fuckload of work but looks great now.

I hate those black window trims same as Mustang trunk lid panel they swirl super easy I hope ceramic coat helps otherwise if ppf them.
Yeah that was definitely the worst part of this truck.

Trucks are alot of real estate, but at least it’s all flat.

The Meguiars 205 does a nice job for polishing, but man does it dust off a lot. I have almost a full bottle of it left. Switched to the Griots but also use the Menzerna 3500.

I’m surprised the yellow cutting pad on the black trim wasn’t too aggressive. I am going to have to try that!

M205 didn’t dust a ton for me until I switched to the yellow pad for that black trim. The orange polishing pad was pretty low dust.
