At least on the 5.0’s it makes a big difference, on e85 every so often my mustang would start missing randomly, change the plugs and it would be perfect again

Yeah the tips on those plugs are worn. The ecoboosts are really temperamental about spark plug gap, bet you have a misfire on throttle with that

Did a big highway pass and it dropped out and I limped it til I could clear the code.

I think that's pretty much any boosted engine. The gap widens, it starts to misfire at WOT, time to change the plugs. Higher the boost, tighter the gap.

I'm doing 0.30 kinda in the middle

Most people start tight, like 0.026 and let them widen as the electrode erodes. If you start in the middle, you'll either have to re-gap them at some point, or live with shorter plug life.

I borescoped the cylinders and holy crap are they carboned up.....

I'm trying to use only BP gas, but how do you guys feel about seafoam or BG 244k?

I like additives... Do you guys?

Change plugs often. Then when you get misfires, play the game of swap the COP to another cylinder and see if the misfire follows. Replace as needed. New boosted engines seem sensitive to the plugs and coils. When turned up with a tune it just shortens their lives. But tunes can be fun for sure!

I only have 57K on mine but it held up fine until I went with bigger turbos lol. My tuner had it a bit hotter than I realized. I have since switch tuners.

Some are fine and others arent. I have seen issues with the PTU and timing chains on lower mile ones. Overall I love the car, its comfortable for me and in daily mode it runs 11.6s @ 119
