A friend of mine bought this car, and popped the motor about 3 years ago. He travels all over the place for work, so this car has been sitting at his grandparents place since then. They are moving to a new house, so he needed to get rid of the car. I am looking for a parts car to supply my race car, but this just seemed too nice to part out and send to the crusher. So I ended up buying it. I have a few L67's sitting around, so I thought this would be a good time to use one.

Picking the car up.

My wife was nice enough to let me take over the garage for a few days.

There are leaks everywhere in the engine bay. Not sure what they are all from, but the car has no power steering or power brakes when driving it into the garage. So, I'm sure I'll have some work there. Hopefully it's just from sitting so long.

And, these are awesome. I highly recommend them. My days of spraying brake cleaner on my hands to clean them are over.

Yeah, just going to flip it. I would like to keep it, but I just don't have the room for it.

why are you paying for a garage when the tree place killed your last one? or did they cut you a fat check to cover everything?

anyways take some pics or make a vid of when your done.

what are you gonna sell it for?

Just toss whatever profit back into the the racecar?
That'll. Be a nice garage for you.

I'm thinking around $3k. It's got some mods and some tasteful stuff done on the interior.

I'll probably put the money into paying off my wife's car. Or buying a dump trailer. I need one of those bad. I've got pretty much everything I need for the racecar, I think. Just basically watching for a really cheap parts car to steal random parts off of.

The only gaskets that I didn't replace are the head gaskets and the front and rear seal. I got some grade 8 bolts to put the flexplate back on.

Just getting the motor put together and putting it in the car.

And.....SON OF A BITCH!

I cracked the damn bell housing on the trans. I was in a hurry and was trying to wrap up for the night. I didn't have the lower dowel quite in the right spot, and I started tightening the bell housing bolt. So, now I have to pull the motor back out, spend a bunch of time cleaning it and tig weld it up. Ugh.

Took me a few hours, but it turned out pretty good. Cast aluminum is so hard to weld.

You cracked the trans rookie? You get an F but an A+ for welding cast so well call it a wash.

Also hope you locktite'd them flex plate bolts too of course.

Them damn shattered flex plates were a never ending issue with my s1x e85 car.

Lol. Believe me, I was pissed about it. And I found out why. One of the ground wires in that area somehow got in between the trans and engine alignment dowel and wouldn't let them come together. Evidently i need better lighting in my garage.

And, yes. Lots and lots of loctite.

Know how you get better lighting? I can send a tree service company your way I hear they are really good at adding sky lights!

Worked perfect.

I think this is a 3.4 pulley.

Pretty sure this is why the motor popped, so stock pulley going back on.

I've pretty much quit working on it for the time being. I still haven't received the title yet, so I can't drive it anyways.

Not trying to thread jack, but if you happen to know anyone selling a dhp or working avt let me know i need to buy one ASAP!

Thanks! I don't really have any plans if it doesn't sell. I don't really need it, but I guess we'll see.

The car runs and is all back together sitting in my driveway. Just waiting on the title so I can road test it.

This car has been a pain in my ass.

I got it running, but couldn't drive it since I didn't have a title. 3 months later I finally get the title.

I get plates and drive it a little. Then, blow a brake line. Park it for a week til new lines arrive. I get those put on and notice the fuel lines are in bad shape. So, another week and I get those.

Now I only have power steering one way. So I order a new rack and put it in. I also had a weird problem where the radio wouldn't work, power locks, and heated seat wouldn't work. Did a bunch of checking, and found a blown maxi fuse due to a wire rubbing....fixed all that.

I put two new front wheel bearings on because the old ones were loud. I finally get it driving good and have about 100 miles on it....and out of nowhere the trans won't shift into 3rd anymore. I drained the fluid yesterday, changed the filter, and stuck in a bottle of Lucas. I put on 150 miles today, and no change.

So, I guess I get to change the tranny too.
