If you were thinking about a Paxton on a new 5.0 what gear ratio would you want I've seen a lot of guys running a 3.31 with good results but a lot of the cars I'm seeing are 3.15 gears and I don't know if it's too low or just right, figure 600+whp Paxton set up and a auto trans

3.31 if you're going to track it, 3.15 if you are strictly on the street with it.

Wait what? 3.31 is manual base car gears. Then you can option 3.55 or 3.73. For auto I think you can only get 3.15 gears. My buddy had 4.10s installed on his 13 auto GT/CS and they were nuts. that car would shift three gears between the time it took to leave the stop light (light throttle) and pass the other side of the intersection's stop light. Probably topped out at 120mph..... Anyway, if you are manual, get the 3.31 gears if you are getting a PD blower. If you are going with that paxton, you will need that low end hit so atleast get the 3.55 gears like I have or better the 3.73s. No bigger than that. And if auto, the 3.15 gears with 600rwhp is putting people into the 9's with stock trans's. No need to change those because the 3.15 with that auto trans ratios makes the auto car comparable to having 3.55s I heard with the manual car.

Can't you swap out the rear end regardless of trans? The type of trans shouldn't matter.

Ofcourse. But I was just saying what you will get from the factory already installed. Yeah you can swap gears out though. But ford got the auto/3.15 ratios correct like a mofo. Those cars with boost are very fucking fast.

Depends on a lot of small details, but i would run 3.15's with boost. Love me some top speed.

I would leave the 3.15 gear in the rear end and use the money towards a converter. You will gain way more from the converter than you will from a gear change.
