It's unreal how buying used things only gets more difficult, despite technology developing to the point that it should be a piece of cake. Drives me nuts.
It’s only more difficult when people misrepresent, or fail to disclose, or are just really stupid.

Yesterday morning, I find a decent one on Facebook marketplace. It doesn't say "conversion" in the listing anywhere or "explorer". I almost find it on accident. Looks decent. I think it's a sneeze overpriced at the time at 18,495.
2011 1500 rwd 108k miles non-high-top, non-extended. Looks alright. Down by Peoria.
I begrudgingly log into Facebook to message the seller to call/text me... Last night I hadn't heard anything and log back in and give my email as well in case he is uncomfortable texting or calling. Whatever.
Little bit later I get this.

i wish i had used my burner number for that shit and not my legit number/facebook profile because fuck that guy.
Probably got more interest than a he expected on it and got greedy. Nobody accidentally lists something for a random number then changes to another random number.
i should have also mentioned, he's a "license plate fingerer"... even though he's using his own personal facebook for listings. with his real full name. and town he lives in.

dude on thursday, says there is no way he can show me it/let me see it/possibly sell it until sunday night. fine whatever. you have the title right? YEP IN HAND GOOD TO GO. even sends me a pic of the vin on the title. awesome.
I hesitate to go look at other vans that I'm less interested in than this particular one..
Sunday i basically plan my fucking day around getting to hoffman estates at 6pm on a fucking sunday to see this thing. wife and i end boating earlier than we do, I mow my grass mid day hot sun fuck everything, plan to get dinner at a place halfway between where we have to go and our home, cool whatever.
Then this happens while we are sitting down to dinner...
