Oh! I’ve seen a few people mention they’re running ls3 cams on stock tunes and having this guy turn off afm.

I was under the presumption that doing AFM delete 'required' the mechanicals to be done too. Meaning cam, lifters, etc...

Well yes and no. You can turn it off in the pcm and it will no longer go in 4cyl mode but the parts that fail are still in there. There’s also the range commander thing that just plugs in.

I’ll be honest if I didn’t already have a big cam for my wife’s car I probably would of just done an ls3 cam in mine.

AFM cam be tuned off, the lifters still fail more often, add more lift or rpm and it really can become a problem.

Picked these up tonight for what I thought was a good deal. Staggered, midnight silver Camaro SS 20's. They're brand new. It was a high end vehicle dealership up in Lake Forest that had them. The Camaro owner basically bought the car and swapped wheels right away. So I am tempted to hold off until spring and put summer tires on them. We'll see.

I had those on my G8. Looked awesome, but I blew two tires out hitting small potholes. I ran Continental DWS tires, don't recall the size now. I eventually replaced them with CTS-V wheels with more sidewall on the tires and didn't have any issues after that.

Still trying to sort out the size I want. It seems like a mixed bag on the G8 board. 275/35/20 or 285/30/20. This choice then also plays in to what front sizes I go with. I'm a little hesitant on the 285's just simply because I fear rubbing as I do use the car as a 4-seater (the kids).

A wide 27” tall tire will fit and you’re in stock suspension. Can’t imagine you’d rub.

That seems to be concensus, but then you get a few that say when adults are in the back, you can see the gentle rub mark in the tire sidewall. Nothing puncturing, just the brushing mark.

The ride wasn't terrible and I used this as my dad mobile. My kids were always in it. Never an issue with rubbing with them, but did have some miner rubbing with adults in back. As happy as I was to have them and with the way they looked...I was much, much happier to get rid of them in favor of the CTS-V wheels. They blew out twice. Each front tire with sidewall damage.
