replacing the 6 year old GM battery is the place to start. on a tender or not the battery is worn out. hopefully you didn't wipe out the alternator too

you kidding me? that alternator was junk from the factory...those things need the 140 amp 3800 alternator

Like already mentioned, if you have an 08, and its an original battery, just pitch it and buy a new one. I wouldn't even waste my time with a Diag on it.

Surprisingly let the car sit from midnight last night till now, got in the car and it started. The battery voltage read 10.5 and the car died in about a minute. Pulled the battery and put it on the charger. Tomorrow night I'll put the battery back in and test voltages at the alternator and battery.

Its the alllllllterrrrrrnattttoooooor! But while you're at it, replace the battery since it likely won't be living much longer anyways.

Just had the alternator bench tested at advanced auto parts in Oakbrook Terrace. 12.2V. New alternator has already been ordered.

I'm going to replace the battery as well since I completely drained it. Anyone have any input on batteries? I like optima, had one in my TBSS. Red top or yellow top? Anyone know of a battery to save weight that isn't outrageously expensive?

I have had Optima batteries. They work well, Little on the high side when it comes to the skrilla but its a nice looking batter with no acid...
