Call Safelite?

I noticed on the 2006 Lexus there is a rock chip on the windshield that is starting to spider crack.

Is that repairable with the DIY windshield patch kits or is it better to call Safelite to have them fill in the chip / spider crack?

Looks repairable. Insurance should pay for it. Check with Safelite. I have done it both ways and the Safelite repairs look better.

Passenger side in that spot, Safelite. Or, wait a bit, put full coverage on, and call to make a claim so they’ll replace it.

Safelite charged me $413 for a windshield replacement on my Elantra. I thought that was reasonable. Didn't talk to insurance since it happened before I bought the car.

Somehow I get lucky and right before I go to get them repaired (like same day) they turn into a huge crack from either the heat cold or a goddamn pothole so then I just end up getting the windshield replaced for like $200 at Aaron’s auto glass.

$0.00 glass deductible is like $3 extra a month. It's on all the cars. Even before that, chips that were repairable were free.

Is chip smaller than a quarter, is so it's repairable. I think that's what they go by.

as with anything safelite has "GOOD GUYS" and not so good... if you find a good one remember their name and always request that person because the next guy might suck balls.

Geico doesn’t which has been my preferred insurance to deal with in the past.

Glad I listened with going through the insurance.

My insurance carrier uses Safelite, which the Tech started the chip repair in 95 degree.

Needless to say, he fixed the chip but cracked the windshield.

Let my insurance and Safelite deal with the replacement.

Never had luck with safelite. We had them do a back glass on an Edge 3 times and 3 different dudes came out. Sloppy job. My uncle had a windshield replaced on his Ram and they cut the wire to the light sensor in the dash.

I was happy with them in my recent replacement. Price wasn't terrible and the job seems to be OK. Probably depends on which tech does it and how good a day they are having.
