I think that answer might be a 2 point one.
1) The market demos for the CTS-V tended to be different than what they're going for in the CT6-V, given the cars it's competing against. According to that article, seems as though currently sales seem to be ok for this model.
2) Those who like the CTS-V, wanted a manual. Regardless of how good the auto might be, something about having a 4-door Vette with a manual gear changer...
