Very cool and it has aged very well IMO. Some high end stuff built 30+ years previous just turns into garishness. Then again I have a thing for lots of wood in houses so there is that.

i don't hate the idea of buying a big fancy place and splitting it among people. eg. 2.3m / 5 bedrooms = 460k apiece...

don't think this is the place, and you'd want to have some partnership or legal trust with some legit rules around ownership/sale/upkeep responsibilities, but i would be up for a 460k slice of a really cool property that 1. i'd never buy on my own and 2. is a lot cooler than anything i'd score for 460k...
