Maybe the rear tires were still spinning which made the computer think it was going faster than it actually was?

Was that a concrete barrier? If so, that Vette took it like a champ.
Seemingly very little damage considering how far he knocked that thing.

The barriers were on wooden blocks, probably to make them easier for a forklift to move.

The downside, it let the concrete block slide off them like it was greased.

But yes, where were the brakes? He wasn't going anywhere near fast enough that he could have stopped faster than the barrier stopped him.
