With all that said, OffshoreDrilling OffshoreDrilling are these pipe reamers decent? I want to try to save as much of the main fittings as possible, mainly the toilet elbow and turn the 2" into a cleanout.

Yes. Reed makes the best ones.

Turned the nightstands at my girlfriendā€™s place into floating nightstands since the new mattress we bought was much thicker and the nightstands were short.

I've always lol at friends and family that say, OMG we want or need floating nightstands and or dressers. I ask whats wrong with what you have now, nothing I just want floating ones. I tell them to do exactly what you did. The dumb fucks go out and buy new because they are sold as "floating"

So that dishwasher I rebuilt and finally got fixed and it's been working better than it ever had......

I came in the house and noticed the microwave and stove both flashing power failure...

I knew the DW was mid cycle so I pressed power it usually returns to last mode and keeps washing... Nothing... I knew I smelled something weird last night... I pull the panel off and sparks.. The board burnt up.... And it had to be the power surge because there were no tripped breakers... So I know I had a legit PF...

Wife wanted a taller chair height toilet in the bathroom....

No big deal right?

Well until you unbolt the old toilet and find out the cast iron flange was put together with JB weld and was cracked where the mounts are, so you had to spend hours on the fucking train wreck fixing other peoples fuck ups....

Needless to say the new toilet is in, but what a pain in the ass.

Sometimes I really wonder if renting would be much easier in life. :bowrofl:
Did u miss something? You got married congrats

Soo yeah.. I donā€™t think This is anywhere near legal now days. Lol. Iā€™ve been using this toilet with a sheet draped across the room. Wife just wants it to be a somewhat legit down and dirty 2nd bath on the cheap. So I half ass framed the 70 yo bathroom back to serviceable condition. I reused an old door. Rebuilt the old sink, toilet was in the other bathroom upstairs and was pieced together from 3 other toilets by the previous owners. Cinder block walls will stay just as they are too. Just have to redo some electrical, finish up plumbing. Then some more free VCT tile floor from the FIL and toss up a few sheets of drywall. Thatā€™s life as a poor. ?

Bathroom update. Thanks to some inexpensive flooring from habitat from humanity store. We now have a floor. Also bought a new toilet for the main bath so that shitter went down here. You can still reset breakers when pooping.. but now itā€™s looking more stylish.

Still gotta finish up some trim. Seal up the box that is covering the pipe that is next to the toilet. Then a final coat of paint. Next will work out some door for the closet and toss in a drop ceiling.

That's a power vent, yeah? Wouldn't it have been cheaper to just replace the gas valve?
Yeah, it's a power vent (I feel like I want to emphasize power in that like a comic book hero or something.)

10 year old hot water heater and the valve was $365! Yeah it would have been cheaper I'd have been pulling it out in 6 months to a year anyways with my luck. Or less. That was a $1600 unit, there were some that were slightly cheaper but eh I went and got it from a local guy.

I found mine for $165 through an online direct ship company, the original guy that came out told me the valve was $300-something and then with labor would be $785. I iz DIY home repair man now and fixt it meself. Because power vents are retardly expensive to buy new, baller.

Speaking of decks and over priced work. Last year we had local company come give us a quote to redo our deck. Iā€™ve got a 12 by 16 foot deck and wanted to go with some of that composite decking material. The guy quoted us $27,000 to replace the bad 4x4 posts (5) and remove the old wood decking and replace it and the railings. Fuck that! Iā€™ll do the work myself.

$45 per sq is fucking nuts, I wanna say the going rate is about $12sq. Not sure where you live, but a lot of these contractors like to base their pricing off your zip code or how nice your house is
