Those 03+ Cobras needed driver mods. Sounds pretty quick to me though. Maybe it was downhill in a hurricane or something. I had a 99 vert that I ended up putting a Paxton on. That was more into the 11s...lol

I knew a guy with a 99 Cobra Coupe about a 12 years ago who had a shitload of engine mods, but still N/A and the interior was also gutted. It ran low 11's and sounded badass.

Great track car, but I wouldn't want to drive it every day.

How fast did a 1999 Cobra R run? That was prolly the highest output NA mod motor until the coyote came along

Trying to build an NA 4.6 mod motor is usually a futile endeavor. These motors love boost, plan accordingly.

Big gears, full bolt ons, suspension and NFG attitude could crack high 11's in the 96-01 cobras. But its going to be a glory pass and maybe 11.9x's

Yes every 99 Cobra was recalled for lying about their HP. Bogged Ford down so much there were no 2000 Cobras other than the "R".

My buddy has a 2001 cobra non supercharged should be the same as a 99. It has long tube headers, cold air intake, no cats, full exhaust. Clutch, 4.56 gears, suspension parts and a 26" slick. he ran 11.90 at Byron.

Factory redline on the 99-01 was 7krpm....well before the ls7 and coyote did it.
