I think you had mentioned the caddy quirks (might of been in reference to the CTS). Think the infotainment and hvac is something tolerable long term? Like get used to it and shrug it off? You know my heart lies with GM.

I think I’m priced out of a newer 540i so the 530 would have to suffice. It’s not the slowest thing I’ve looked at but certainly not fast. The ct6 is like a second quicker according to mag times.

It was never a “get used to it “thing. It simply didn’t work. It was laggy and sometimes when you hit the buttons they just didn’t work. And it felt cheap and poorly put together new, so I can’t imagine what it feels like after tens of thousands of miles.

It’s hard to capture the blue but I like it (yea they gave it to me really fucking dirty). Also apparently someone decided it wasn’t loud enough so it’s got a different muffler and the exhaust valve thing is tacked open. Not sure how I feel about that.

Trying to get a good mix of both. It’s peppy but not quick. You can build boost on the brakes enough to push thru them and it’ll move out alright after doing it. Enough for the wife and kid to say something lol

Love it . Pretty sure burger tuning has a jb4 that will bump it up 50hp which will make it more fun.

Noticed the removed the 530i emblem, didn’t notice anything under hood but didn’t look super close or pull engine cover. The rest of the exhaust is stock. Could of potentially had a tune on it?

I’d probably get a jb4 at the very least for it.

24hr test drive over, takeaway is that the specific car needs a factory muffler, they’re going to let me know on that.

I really dig the car though. It’s about as small as we could go as a family though and that’s got me looking at 740i’s now.

The 4 cylinder is peppy but not quick and I think I’d end up getting a tune for it but I think the better option is the i6.


I’ve got this shit narrowed down to a 16+ 740i or a stinger gt2. The practicality of the stinger and the bottom 13/high 12 potential (at sea level) is hard to ignore. Maaaaybe a 540i if I come across one that’s cheap enough to deal with the smaller car.
