Had a 18 ft flat bottom glaston that I used to take up to Hayward and lake Shelby all the time. Hayward for Muskie and Shelby when we wanted to do some camping and crappie fishing. Glad I no longer have that money sink. Now if I want to get out on the boat I just borrow my dad's bass boat.

My dad is bringing it over so I can fix his trailer tomorrow. Apparently some of welds on the frame broke or something.

-Need to buy a Dewalt buffer and a wool pad to remove some mild-to-medium oxidation. Then detail the entire boat. My Porter Cable wasn't cutting it as gelcoat is a lot harder.

-Engine tune-up with new plugs, wires, cap/rotor.

-Buy a new towable for my son. Costco had a nice 3 person one for $199.

Yeah, 40' anything is way out of my price range. Boat cost isn't the problem, it's the maintenance, storage, towing, dockage and fuel of such a vessel

Less than $2,000/yr for drystack at winthrop... Year round if I so choose. Maintenance sucks, fuel sucks. I know because I do a lot of the maintenance on it currently and put fuel in when I use it lol.

I'm in the middle of redoing my interior, well not me but having it done. Here are some progress shots. For this season I'm having the engine hatch, rear bench, both helm chairs and side panels done. End of this season I will have the open bow done to complete. To save some money, he was cool with me removing all interior myself. Plus letting me use his shop, now I can get in and clean up some wiring and add some lights. I was alittle nervous that I would discover some moisture or rotting wood, but everything is in great shape for a 17yr old boat. The interior is original and was starting to crack and fade.

I like this plan. Lord knows I've got a lot to learn! Speaking of, anyone know the best online place to take the boat test so I can send it to my kids?

Tried to get Peter to throw me a delivery date or an order number... He sort of blew me off and said he would send me something as the time got closer. Makes me nervous a bit.

When I first got my boat the wife and I took a 8hr boating class at Cabalas, it was good to learn about basic safety of channel markers, etc.....
