Pile of shit is what it is, fake matrix effects that we've had on home theaters for years. I listened to it, I would never choose this over an Atmos track.

Now, if they used Hans Zimmer's Z+ audio format for headphone viewing? THAT would be impressive. That was 2ch audio mastered with HRTF transforms from Atmos tracks. That actually worked in in 3D. Sounds could be above, and below you in addition to in front and behind.

Atmos has been available on Netflix for quite awhile now.

Their Atmos is good, not at the level of Bluray Atmos, but for a streaming service I'm plenty pleased.

Netflix's Atmos is a Lossy compression running at 768Kbits/s for all channels. An Atmos mix say from Dune on Bluray is a 6,000Kbit/s bit-rate.

But, 768kbit is decently good, specially compared to an older AC3 5.1 track which is around 384kbit/s.

We went on a family vacation to Orlando last week and spent some time in Universal parks. Picked up these Back to The Future decorations for the basement and mounted then tonight.

Plan is to also get a Flux Capacitor poster or display to put in the middle and move the plate to the bottom.

These are mounted on a piece of wood that the previous owner hung up over the fuse panel.

Working on more decorations. Got a frame for an Avatar poster we got when I took one of the twins to see it re-released in IMAX 3D a few months ago.

And I saw some frames that fit the big posters we have. Only grabbed 2 of them to make sure they work, need to go back and grab 4 more. Next is finding a proper place to hang them. I wanna do all 3 posters on the stairs going down into the basement. Wife doesn’t like that idea but there’s no real place for them to go otherwise.

For now they’re just on the floor by this well (which I hate how is decorated)

Hung up the 2 big posters in the stairwell. Need to get 4 more frames and then hang those up another day.

Also picked up these 6 canvas Star Wars prints. Gonna test these out as is in the theater part to see they cause accoustic issues (echoing) or not. I’m also going to look into putting some kind of acoustic insulation on the back. These canvas prints are on sale at Hobby Lobby right now for 40% off, so I had to pick them up.

Kids are having a sleepover with friends tonight down there, so I will wait and do all that next week.
