💦 Detailing blue-sun Details a white Escape

My sister in law is out of town this weekend, she’s a school teacher and she helped watch my kids 1 day a week this summer so I am repaying her the favor by detailing her Ford Escape.

I think my brother in law washes it regularly but it’s got zero wax/protection on it.

Adams Iron Remover on the wheels, side body panels and hatch.
APC to clean the wheels/tires
Gave it a snow foam wash
Clay Towel on all the paint
Final snow foam wash

My bottle of Meguiar’s #83 Dual Action Cleaner and Polish had about an inch in it, so I decided to finish it off on this detail. You can tell it’s past it, chunks came out into the red Meguiar’s cutting pad. Realistically the pas probably did 90% of the work and that’s fine. 1 pass on all panels and 2-3 passes on the hatch.

Gave it 1 coat of Meguiar’s Hybrid Ceramic Wax (liquid) and will be giving it a 2nd coat tomorrow before she comes home.

Being a white car that’s daily driven on the highway, it’s got lots of rust spots all over the sides and especially on the hatch.

Overall I’m pleased with how it came out.

Also gave the inside a basic vaccum and wipe down and dresses the tires.

All done. Also gave the exhaust tips a quick cleaning with steel wool and metal polish. And a small scuff on the drivers mirror.

I need to do the same to my Escape. Normally I keep it pretty clean, but it's been neglected this year. I love the sport trim package and tinted windows on white.

Gav'sPurpleZ the Adams iron doesn’t “bleed” like that for me, ever. Maybe I got a bad batch (gallon) or I’m not leaving it on long enough, but it never seems to do that.

Gonna do a 2nd coat of the Hybrid Ceramic wax this morning and redress the thirsty tires before she comes to pick it up this afternoon.

2nd coat applied and final wipe down done.

tires soaked up all the dressing again. They looked wet when I was done applying, and by the time I pulled the car out they look dry again. Clearly they’ve never had tire dressing on.

Also noticed that the rear wiper was looking dry, so I gave it a quick application of rubber/vinyl dressing. Wiped it down while it was wet for a more clean, matte look.

Nice work! White looks great when it’s all shined up, but is a pain because every little iron particle or black spot shows.

Yeah when I had my white Mazdaspeed3, I used to get those out about every 2-3 months with some cleaner wax. Would be especially bad in the winter months.
Love the glow that a clean white car has. I miss my MS3, one of the most fun cars to drive and super practical.

Looks great! Love my white cars, but dealing with those iron spots is a pain if you don't stay on top of it or have a good coating on the paint.

So this Escape is my sister in laws, I just detailed and ceramic coated her husbands Super Duty last weekend. Since I had them buy the coating, I told her to bring the Escape over today.

I honestly don’t think the car had been washed since the last time I did it, last year:

I did a Dawn wash to strip off the Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Wax I applied last year. There were a few scruffs on the drivers side, so a single pass of M205 and a Meguiars red pad made quick work of them. A few scuffs were on the pass side so I did a quick pass there and on the hatch as well.

IPA wipe down and 2 coats of CarPro UK 3.0 was applied.

Wheels had BS Brake Buster applied and scrubbed with various brushes.
