Never saw this... Approves much...
What makes it 1 of 4 or 6?

In 63, there were 3 available 409's, and the Z-11 "Mystery Motor."
Most common was the L-29, 340hp 9:1 with Hydraulic cam. Approx 10k of those motors were made.
2nd most common is L-33, which is 11.25:1 with Solids, dual quads, and 425hp.
Mine is an L-31, which means same long block as the 33, but with a Winters single quad manifold, and a Carter 830(!) CFM carb. 400hp.
GM was TERRIBLE about numbers in this era, but a few of the experts I've talked to said there were +/- 1200 of the high compression motors made in 63...and approximately three quarters of them being L-33s.
So...lets say 300ish L-31s. The Hi-Po motors were mainly in Belairs and Biscaynes, and nearest I can find is about 60 of them ended up in Impalas. Total production stats dictate that 2/3 of Impalas were hardtops, so that leaves 20ish convertibles. Mine, being a late build, is a close ratio Munice, so chop the 20 in half. The real real weird shit comes in with the factory 7k tach, factory base level exterior trim, factory tinted windshield, AND factory front seat belts.
It's the top trim level, with the big motor, better trans, and 4.11s...but with no steering, brakes, or extra chrome...but seatbelts. Weird ass car that literally means the world to me.
