There are six types of “street racing” in Illinois. The following is a brief description of what constitutes street racing under the law in Illinois, as found in Illinois Vehicle Code 625 ILCS 5/11-506.
Street Racing: Class A Misdemeanor (Per Offense: $250 - $2500 fine, potential 1 yrs prison)
If Aggravated Street Racing: Class 4 Felony (Per Offense: $500 fine, 1 yrs prison mandatory. Judge could max $25k fine and 3 yrs imprisonment)

1. Two or more vehicles, side by side, accelerating at speeds in a competitive attempt to outdistance each other. This is the common form of street racing that is familiar to most people. This is often called drag racing.
2. Timing vehicles on a pre-determined course, one at a time, to see which is faster.
3. Simply trying to outgain the speed of another vehicle on the road, whether they know about it or not.
4. Using a car to prevent another car from passing in a passing lane.
5. Using a car to get to a destination before another.
6. Using a car to test the physical endurance or stamina of a driver over long distances.

So, charged w/ felony 4 (aggravated street racing) or misdemeanor (street racing)?
Imagine he would plea down.
Moral of the story is don't post up YT vids of you doing stupid illegal shit. I'm surprised we don't hear about ppl getting pinched way the fuck more often.

What about the insurance company who he ripped off in all probability? They'd probably investigate for that kinda bank.
