Holy old thread Have since watched it and it is indeed an amazing series. Even own the bluray set. Been awhile since I've gone thru it all..... Might be time for another re-watch.

I agree, excellent series. If it’s on TV I’ll usually watch a few episodes since they normally run them consecutively.

The Pacific is also really good.

Have the Blu-ray set myself.

They've been playing this off and on for the History channel for a couple months now. Thought that was why this was bumped.

Definitely an amazing series. Never missed an episode when they originally aired on HBO, and bought the bluray. Hard to believe this shows 20 years old now...

Such a great series and agree The Pacific was really well done too.

Edit, I have seen the entire series about 5 times. left that out.

I suspect because it first came out on HBO when having that channel was expensive. I know I wanted to see it when it came out but had to wait a few years for it to filter down to the normal channels. I've probably seen it 10x over by now.

I've only ever watched the first season of the wire.... And that was like 4 years ago. If/when I ever go back to it I'm just going to have to start from the beginning again
