I don't believe it. I rarely see anything on the roads older than 2010.
I'd say is more of the location where we live , this shitty midwest weather is hard on cars . If you go South or West there is still decent amount of older cars out there

Not surprising to me. I drive a 17 year old car every day to work. Even putting a couple grand into it makes more sense than buying a new car and then getting it scratched, dented, and run into. And are people really “buying” new cars or financing them?

My vehicle average age is 9.125

Just lots of rich people on here con

11.8 year old average is just nuts to me. 225 million drivers in the USA, 17 million new vehicles pear year. I wonder what the average number of vehicles per driver is.

I saw a Cutlass Ciera a few weeks ago and had a flashback of high school. I think I see more 60's GTO's on the road than I do Ciera's.

Megan has a 18 year old Jeep. My truck is 5 years old.

So average vehicle age is ~12 years in my house.

Makes sense.

263.6 million vehicles in the US, and vehicle sales over the last 4 years have been 17m/year. That would mean 26% of the vehicles on the road are 4 or fewer years old, not factoring in cars totaled out

How the hell do we get to 11.8 years from that...must be a LOT of early 90's heaps out there

9.5 average for me.

25.6 for my parents. but only 15 if you count cars that have moved in the past 20 years.

I think that’s just a rust belt thing. Plenty of old not rusty things here that are just used as vehicles. 60/70’s c10’s used as work trucks all year long, vw beetles all over, and weirdly a lot of corvairs.

Average for cars currently in our household is 8.5

I guess technically though the average is 12 years old, but the one from 2000 is in shop/storage so I guess doesn't count currently

We're at about 3.5 years for our three. But going back to 2015, we were at almost 10.

If DEEZUZ would scrap the gtp and diesel, and part out the iroc, the national average would drop to 11.6
