There is another chance to autocross with me this year,

October 17/18
Place: Rantoul, IL

like always, it's a lot of fun and it is probably one of the least abusive forms of motorsports out there, but also one of the most addicting...

You don't need a fast car to be fast... and you don't have to be fast to have fun.

lets get a big CMC/CVST showing down there and show those down state yokals how it's done.

if you want to meet up with me and follow, call me 815-508-4808, Ben

convoy will gather at 5:30 and leave at 6:00 sharp from the Home Depot in Oswego, IL

if you are going to go, please PM me so we can talk details, IE helmets, tech inspect, ect.

1. is it open to all makes and models or only mustangs?
2. what is the cost to do this?
3. is it in a parking lot or track?
4. how tough is the tech?
5. stockish cars allowed to run?
what time does it start and end

this is open to all makes and models as long as it is not a van/truck/suv, ect

it is on a airport hangar pad (no light poles or curbs)

tech is basic... no leaks, brakes work properly, battery tied down, all loose items taken out, no loose wheel bearings.

all levels of cars allowed, cars are classed accordingly to model and modifications

- Registration: 8:30am - 10:00am
- Tech Inspection: 8:45am - 10:15am
- Drivers' Meeting: 10:30
- First Car Off: 11:00am

cost $30 for day 1
$10 for day 2 if driving same car

Helmets are required, but the club has club loaners available.

going to try to clear up schedule to make it either sat or sunday, always wanted to do something like this. Are the newbies allowed to run first, last etc?

Bringing my 97 C5 6 speed which I just got.
need new shocks and a few other things done before I can make it out there.
also have a crack in the winshield, would that effect anything ie not passing tech?

the crack shouldn't matter for tech... just don;t bring it up.

the newbe's are allowed to be placed in a novice class if you want... there is not a specific heat for newbe's.

we run in two heats and the newbe's are intermixed... but between your runs you can probably get a ride along with an experienced veteran to help you learn the track and they can even ride with you to help you if you like.

was thinking of taking the wife and heading out sounds like fun but i was wondering how long of a ride is it from oswego and i wonder how my saleen would handle with the 20 inch rims and low profile tires. due you run on the trackalone or are several cars running at the same time?

you are by yourself pretty much... they usually start releasing cars when the first one is half way through...

not sure how 20's and low pro's will do... I guess the best way to find out would be to try it.

the ride from Oswego is about 2 hours or so.

so I do not currently plan to meet up at Home Depot... if you want to meet up with me, you should probably call
