Reviews of the 2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI V10 began trickling out early this week, and by most accounts, it's a hit. No surprise, really. As we noted in our Autoblog Garage review, the chassis was begging to be exploited by a more potent engine, and that's exactly what the V10 delivered. But Audi isn't stopping there.
According to an anonymous source cited – not quoted – by InsideLine, the automaker is "experimenting with an even faster supercar that will dare to go head-to-head with the Lamborghini Murciélago LP640." While that won't make the crew from Sant'Agate particularly pleased, the line from InsideLine leaves a lot open to interpretation. Are we talking about an all-new supercar? A V12-powered R8? How about some turbos? All these questions and more will be answered... at some point.
