A buddy in Nevada that went on the camping trip I was on last spring had a rack like that. Pretty cool set up but obviously you need to unhook the camper to get it on or off.

It was basically undrivable without bags. With bags he said it tows like a dream. I can see your point on gross weight though.

He works on cell towers in the mountains around northern NV/CA so he said there's a lot of places he can't turn a trailer around in. He also runs a set of tracks in the winter. I'm pretty jealous.

i was just guessing his trailer is probably 8k lbs? just completely 1000% shooting from the hip, so let's call that 800lbs of tongue weight, then the rack is likely 1,000lbs? sxs probably another 2k. i dunno just adds up QUICK.

we're at almost 4k added in payload without people or gear in the truck.
