So it's an AR lower with convertible uppers between 5.56 and (if selected) 7.62x39 (or any other caliber chosen) with included barrels, piston system, etc, etc?

For the price I'd just buy two rifles, an AR and AK, and not have to worry about converting shit.

If you can buy them used for a good price, I'd do that. I just wouldn't buy new. They are some sick looking rifles though.

Wanna buy a Sig 716? :s00ls:

I had one of the first POFUSA rifles about 10 years ago? it was a shorty ar, like a 9.5" barrel. Never really had any issues with it, the coating and machining was well done, and the bolt was super easy to clean. I'm sure it changed a lot over the years.

the newer pof 415 is a bulletproof design as it seem
I watched a vid of a guy running thousands of rounds thru one on full auto in a 416 witch is the full auto version of the 415 with no gun issues at all

I have the newest gen4 POF415. I love the gas piston design as it keeps the bolt group way cleaner. One thing about the 415 is the proprietary BCG. The upper receiver is also not MIL spec to accommodate the BCG. The BCG has a roller bearing on it that helps reduce wear on it and the inside of the upper. The lower works with a MIL spec upper. I was building a few ARs and used my POF lower to test the uppers. The 415 is a pricey rifle but when you consider the gas piston system and how bullet proof it is, it was worth it to me. The other thing is the upper has a high profile so you need micro iron sights on it. I put a set of diamond head micros on, along with an Eotech.
I found a few used Gen3 but they were only $400 cheaper than what I paid. Depending what generation your buddy's is that's a good deal.
Here's what mine looks like.

It's the bronze finish that I love on those as well. So I'm probably going to end up with it
