Got my tires installed today….real close but not rubbing. Bought the wrong hub center spacers though, so looks a little funny until spacers come in I just ordered. I got sidetracked with the roof rack last night. Didn’t start until noon today on suspension. Got the pass side strut out and replaced wheel bearing. While the axle is out, replaced all 4 engine mounts (was a treat). While it’s still all open, I’m replacing o2 sensors next, then will pop the axle back in and the new strut spring combo. Probably will only get the front done tonight. Starting to get sore!
The struts aren’t all that bad to do…actually pretty easy. It’s all the other shit I’m doing that’s killing my progress. I spent 2 hours making an axle spacer, because the XC90 axles I’m using have the ABS ring 5mm off. Fronts are done, I’m taking a bath.
Replaced the brake hoses today. One was really bad which was what prompted it. $12 for the fronts and $9 for the rear hoses…so thankfully cheap insurance. Pedal feel is much better, but brakes feel a little wooden in this car. Probably will try to find a more aggressive pad for the brakes.
Fog lights on this car are essentially useless, so did a little mod today. Sanded/polished the glass, then modified the reflector to hold a colight mini driving light (amber/white). I can still use stock adjuster too, so a nice plus.
All Coilight Bulge Series are featured with a bright high beam and low beam. They are called the bulge series because they all have very prominent convex lenses that can maximize the light output. That means you can get a huge brightness from their tight size. Here comes Colight minimal...
