I have pretty shitty service at my house.

I put my phone on wifi. I have incredible internet and great wifi.

My phone will be sluggish almost at all times with wifi on/off.

Both mobile data and wifi on.

Sluggish.

Like struggles to upload pictures.

Why can't the phone pick up on what's stronger and use it? Or use both?

I recently found this setting. It hasn't improved anything

S9+ on fi

It's so bad that recently I went to textra instead of messages cause I wasn't getting or sending messages.

Your phone might still show mobile data is connected but it's using the wifi when that is on. Android phones don't age gracefully and the S9+ is what 4-5 years old?

there are settings in development that can override this. I am pretty sure DEEZUZ has that on too.

I don't know if Fi does this but with T-Mobile, I originally had great service in my area. They turned on a new tower somewhat in the area and my service dropped horribly. I complained to the service rep and they sent me a free personal tower for my home. It connects via wifi and boosts the cellular signal. It has helped out a lot. Noticeable difference when internet goes out and the tower goes down. My mobile data goes back to horrible service until my tower picks back up. Something to see if Google Fi offers.

Gf just lost battery on her pixel 4.

Turns out there was another class action thing and they were warranting the phones up until October. Hers ist covered.

Sonshes experienced issues with Google pixels since day 1. Including the speaker failure that paid out in class action.

I'd never ever own a Google phone based on her experiences fucking garbage

Reception is already not great, I wasn't going to chance it. The OTA is on the developer site if you want to side-load it

My reception has been the best Ive had on a Pixel. Sometimes takes a minute to spin up data when I bounce off wifi but speeds have been great and signal nice and strong.

Have you had issues with data losing connection and having to reboot? It happens to me periodically

So if I'm at home and shut my mobile data off, it's like a brand new phone. Super fast, pics load and upload blazing fast.

But then I can't get text messages or shit... So wtf do I do

So I disabled the MOBILE DATA ON ALL THE TIME function under developer options and I have never had a faster phone using experience ever. It's nuts how good my shit works now.

So maybe it was favoring my shit cell service over good clean wifi both at work and home.

Updates for this phone have been a disaster the whole time. The November update didn't roll out right away either to Verizon customers. Hopefully they get their shit figured out.

So I'm still not getting messages. Intermittently.

Few were sent to me at 5am so I was at my house where I have great wifi and OK service. I just now restarted my Phone and they popped up.
