Yeah that would be the monte booster. That's a good booster. This one is quite a bit smaller. My car pulls through the brakes with it at 1900 rpms.

Try the pump it used to be had for 100 bucks from jegs, it would hold anything

My buddy has the pump. It made basically no difference.

I should be able to hold my car at the line without booster assist.

I did it my car would roll at 2 psi, on the pump it would hold to 12+ psi

I'm not sure. I can't bring it to stall speed.

With a blower car is faster to flash the converter than to stall it up.

I know it’s in the title of the thread but I totally forgot this was a blower car lol, I was buzzed up talking about brining a turbo car up on the converter to build boost last night lol, did you try to just take up up off idle a bit and flash the converter at launch, my car 60’s the hardest from like 1500-1600 rpm and stab it off the light apples to oranges but if you have a stock or zzp converter it should flash pretty good

I didn't try that. I've always had the best luck stalling it up. Plus, with bracket racing, I'm way more consistent stalling it up. But I will have to keep that in mind the next time I go to the track. There is a zzp 2500 stall in the car.

So I've been super vague about the intercooler on this car, and that's not by accident. I was thinking about reproducing these kits, but they are a huge pita to make. So here is what I did.

I welded a plate over the opening of the lim to block it off.

IMG_20190826_095923483.jpg

Made some new blower mounts.

IMG_20190911_180926952.jpg

Had some machine work done to the exterior of the blower case.

IMG_20190914_152938085_HDR.jpg

After that, I was able to drop it in upside down.

IMG_20190911_185402434.jpg

I cut a hole in the lim for air inlet.

IMG_20190913_103332267_HDR.jpg

Mocked up the inlet pipe and welded a box over the plate on top of the blower.

Started to mock up my charge pipes. I used and old thrasher nitrous TB spacer for a TB flange.

Welding some of these aluminum charge pipes.

Some welds look decent, some look terrible. Part of my problem is trying to weld 1/2" aluminum with a welder rated for 3/16".

Mocked up the intercooler.

this is a weird question but why even mount your intercooler there... like... there's no air transfer heat exchanger on it right?

or am i missing something

Here's a fun fact. When switching to passenger side tb, you don't have to extend the tb wiring. Just unwrap the harness and the wires are long enough to reach.

Yeah it could be mounted anywhere really. This just looked to be the easiest spot.

are you just running an ice box and not a heat exchanger for it?

i bet you could have had it wind up in this region though too and then run a heat exchanger where you moutned it.

I would have had to get a smaller intercooler if I did that. Which probably would have been fine as this one is rated for 1500 HP.

I was going to put it there originally, but after a bunch of measuring, it was just easier to stick it in front.

And this is why I joined this forum :) Very cool man. Now I see why that dude is so loud. Don't think a filter box will make much difference. You sure you don't want to mass produce these? What do ya got, 5 hours in it? ;)

If I put the exhaust back on the car and took some videos, I'm sure people would want this kit just because of how loud the blower is. I don't think I could sell it for under $2k though. I don't think anyone would buy it for that money.

That's pretty cool it reminds me of those draw through carb turbo setups.

isn't it basically how a 3.8 supercharged ford is set up?

did you consider having the blower exit driver side?

may have given you more room passenger side for whatever- possibly eliminated that hardcore 90* turn your piping has?

kinda like this.
