But why do you have to flip when air fryer should be all around it?
The one I have definitely cooks the top more than the bottom side. The heating element is right above it. Even with a fan blowing air around.

Most recipe will say to shake or flip during a cook.

I've cooked chicken, burgers, and even steak in my air dryer. It's not as good as a grill. Especially without the charcoal or wood flavor. But it works well. I was surprised when I did the steak. In a pinch it can definitely work.

Always flip. Mine has a timer that at halfway asks to turn the food.

I’ve done frozen bubba turkey burgers in the air fryer, which were decent (as good as a frozen turkey burger can be).

I also just started doing the kids’ grilled cheese in the air fryer. Super fast, minimal mess and very crispy and melty.
