Anybody ever deal with these things? It seems that over time the locks are getting weaker and weaker. Now they don't work at all. Buttons on doors, key fob, notta...

Most likely an actuator. In my case since none of the locks work, I believe I'll be looking into either a gem module or something else more complicated

I know the expeditions the locks just got jammed with crud caused the door ajar lights to stay on - the fix for those was a shit load of penetrating oil and slamming the doors closed 100 times each

This. Dealt with it on 2 of my explorers, and one expedition. PB Blaster/WD40 the fuck out of all the things.

Actuators
Crud caked up in the plastic bushing thingy's (technical term)
Switch
More crud in the bushings
Bent rods
Even more crud

At least that's what always happened with my Dads Explorer.

I just read of 2 relays in the rear compartment that could be faulty. I might need to swap them

Nothing works at all? From switch, fob?

Easy fix ground broken in driver's door boot, take off panel and ground switch to chassis

OK, will keep you updated. Truck was at place where they installed alarm for 3 hours yesterday. They said they have their end of things checked out and that it is a issue somewhere else

Make hillbilly inline fuse, if memory serves me correctly its a pink with green strip wire, with home made fuse holder, one side to ground, other side to where pink/green wire goes into switch and try it

If it works, take pink/green wire from switch and ground to door, no need for fuse holder

OK, the shop fixed the wiring in the door, they said there is some module that needs to be replaced. All data is telling me there are 2 kinds of locking systems for this truck. Guess I gotta see if I have the relays in the rear compartment.

OK, the relays are indeed in the rear cargo department. They are all good. So here's what happens

Driver door and passenger controls will unlock the doors, but will not lock. There isn't a click or anything, nothing.

With the key fob, doors will unlock, but will not lock.

With the rear compartment switch, doors will lock and unlock perfect.

Grandpa's beater. Lol. Won't let me do anything on it. Barely get to change oil, brakes, etc. Lol

I've read that it's probably the wire from driver control panel to rear relays. So ima put a wire from the switch to rear relay and call it a day

Well, the Mexicans said they repaired the wires in the loom between door and body, but I bet the wire is broken further down the line.
