You can absolutely tell the difference with OLED.

Maybe with MicroLED in the future when the LEDS are small enough to individually illuminate pixel clusters.

With projectors the quality of the project is about half the battle. The rest of it is ambient light in the room, and the screen quality.

This is part of my dilema too. low drop ceilings in the basement, plus you gotta account for the throw of the projector to the screen, etc.

You can mount it right on the ceiling. It doesn't have to be dropped down a large amount. That is what keystone correction is for.

even still what's it hang down? 10 inches? I don't want to have to duck in my basement with how it's setup. wall opposite my tv has a kitchen down there and so it's kind of a walking area- so do i put it above my couch? i just feel like that'd be distracting.

Here's the 85" that we have in our living room, I wanna say we paid $1999 and got a bundle with a $800 Sony Sound Bar for a couple hundred dollars with that.

New projectors can be 4 to 6 inches tall. You could flush mount it to the drop ceiling with a pole going through to a stud. Best place would be to put it over the couch where you wouldnt be walking or over the fridge like was said.

Also your existing tv is mounted too high.
