Nice, love a Mopar with a transplant.
Im looking for an A body Barracuda roller to do something similar, but I will probably not use an LS engine, I'd like to do a don't BS me build on a different power plan and document for people to see if they can't find an LS local to them, Matt's formula still works great on whatever is available.

Yeah I debated doing a gen 3 Hemi in this car, but the valvetrain alone would have been more expensive than my engine and trans were! A cam kit for a gen 3 is nearly $1000! I had a sloppy turbo SBM in this car before the LS, but again, to get decent EFI on it would cost a small fortune. The LS is just hard to beat on a dollar per hp basis.

I'm going to end up using a Lexus engine. LS engines are virtually nonexistent in my local pick-n-pull, and on the occasion that a 300k mile Suburban with a gen 3 5.3 actually makes it in the yard, it is difficult to get to it before the engine is already bastardized or completely gone. On fb marketplace nearby me, people want $500+ for a rusty 5.3 short block that needs rebuilt.

Meanwhile, the Lexus 2jz-ge and 1uz-fe are readily available at the pick-n-pull for $250. So, Mopar with a Japanese heart, it is, but with don't BS me turbo stuff. Matt's Kia new Kia project is particularly interesting to me because he's showing how to use the LS stuff and MS to overcome all the electrical shortcomings of foreign engine management. Lexus/Toyota stuff isn't tunable.

Finally fired up the actual computer so I have some build pics! 56k WARNING!! (lol how's that for a throwback to when forums were hopping!)

I apologize for the quality, this was 10ish years ago, and my iphone's camera lens was all scratched.

We'll start with the day I bought it:

Narrowed a C body 8 3/4 rearend:

Added some chassis reinforcements:

Pic of the old sloppy GT45/318 SBM setup I hacked together out of trash: (take note of my upper rad hose made of a chainlink fencepost)

Then I made one of the 318 pistons a lil melty, so I sold the Mopar stuff and swapped to junkyard LS stuff.

Most recent addition is a rear ARB and some Assassin traction bars. Still gotta get some monoleafs and some double adjustable shocks so this heap'll actually hook.

This is a subset of the massive load of pics that I've posted on other forums over the years. If you have any questions or anything I'm happy to take more detailed pics and show off my hackery!
