Complaint was she started slipping and sliding when warm.

Ripped her out on the new GIANT 4-post drive on, and tore it down yesterday.

Yup, typical 6L80 bs.. converter came apart and has pump wear.. fluid looked like diesel engine oil with a hint of stripper glitter. but it's ok, it'll be back together and delivered in a couple days.

If you have a 6L80, don't ignore the signs, most the time it can be fixed before a full rebuild is necessary!

These are extremely prone to early converter/pump failure. First indication will be a spongy/crappy lockup feel, and a hunt condition at low throttle cruise. Always suspect converter/pump/PR valve issues. Luckily, TransGo gives us a new steel PR valve in the shift kit. problem solved!
