Hard to break 3/4" drive impact sockets and wrenches over 1 1/4" . Our proto chrome sockets break regularly. They usually crack down the side .

You do know that impact sockets are a wearable item right? That are made from a softer metal than heat treated/hardened hand sockets.

My guess is you guys are using hand sockets on impacts...... Big no no.

I've broken a handful of these ratching wrenches from a few brands.....granted I was using them for bolts I probably shouldn't have been using them for I consider the ratching portion a weakness so I just buy regular ones which take way more abuse.

Well shit man, get me in there. Let me figure it out.

If they are breaking too often then it could be a manufacturing issue that needs to be corrected. If we don't know about we cannot correct it.

Bud style lugs bite into the rim then rust to each other , especially the inner lugs . The socket takes a whooping when trying to break the lugs loose.

All our trucks wheels now are 1 5/16 lug hub piloted wheels (with just an outer lug) so I really don't use that particular socket anymore . Hub piloted lugs don't bite in , they just squeeze the rim to the hub .

And craftsman themselves also have two style (regular craftsman and craftsman CM) ratcheting wrenches but pretty sure they aren't American and are more expensive.
