Sloppy šŸ”§ 4l80e Swap

I'm really bad at navigating these forums lol... I ran across a 4l80e that was priced too good to pass up so now I guess I'm doing a 4l80e swap sooner than I thought.

Got everything sorted (kinda), adapter harness, segment swap, swap over my PRNDL/neutral safety switch, bolt up trans.... HOWEVER my 4l80e is out of an 03 2500hd, do I just buy a 03 2500hd flywheel to bolt to my motor? Do I need a spacer? Or it is "put everything together and measure converter to flywheel spacing" then take it apart again if I need a spacer

Truck is a 2007 NNBS Silverado 1500 with a 4.8 and currently a 4l60e(obligatory pictures, truck has no pants currently, I'm building a flatbed)

I think LS is LS. Maybe different gens were different? I guess I donā€™t know the answer lol
I thought the same thing, I emailed dirty dingo about their 4l80e swap flywheel and they said nay you cannot use it. So now I'm here a bit confused....guess I could just tap my own threads into my existing flywheel šŸ˜‚

Did the 4l80e have 2 different bell depths like the 4l60 n longer iss capable design input/bell depth of the 4l65e n iss equipped 4l70e?
I think it has to do with crank length not bell housing on the tranny? Figured if I didn't have the long crank I wouldn't need the spacer. But I keep reading too much and now I'm confused. Emailed dirty dingo to make sure I could use their flywheel and they said no it's for pre 99 vehicles, which further confused me.

If you haven't figured this out yet. The 4l80e flexplate and torque converter should always be grabbed together. (The flexplate is always paired with the transmission NOT the motor) Unless you go after market on vert. A 4.8 from a 2500 gm van has the 4l80e. I grabbed the trans and vert BUT did not grab the flexplate. Like you I had to ask around. You could also look up the vin code and scour the bone yard. I got lucky, a 6.0 was there but the trans was removed. I just had to remove it. 35.00 good deal. If you figured this out. Perhaps it will help someone else.

Kinda sorta lol good to finally see someone say something with actual conviction of being correct instead of guessing along with me though. Still iffy on the spacer though, so I'm going to get a 03 flex plate that comes with the spacer just in case. It's only like 85 bucks new so I'm not gonna cry over it.
