My driver side one is baaaaaad. I never realized it until i got new tires and then could really feel it. Jacked up the car yesterday and it has a shit ton of play in it. Added a gas cap and some NGK plugs for my girlfriends GP and saved the $50 off $125.

you can get a COMPLETE axle rebuild kit from any parts store... why couldnt you get a simple seal? why would that be a dealer part? i havent been to a dealer for anything in many many years... especially for a domestic car... ESPECIALLY a jeep...

Gaskets/bolts/seals... shit like that sometimes is dealer only.

and of course you can get an entire rebuild kit- they can make money off of that.

Dear KJ,

Do yourself a huge favor and buy a pickle fork/tie rod seperator. I spent 3 hours in the garage last night with a hammer and propane torch and still couldn't get one side to separate from the steering knuckle. 11 dollar pickle fork at harbor freight this morning and the thing popped loose with a few hits.

I was so pissed off last night. Can't believe that's all it took. I'll post pics when I get home but one side had to have been the original 125K mile tie rod end. They were both shot but only the drivers side one was about to separate on its own.

Not sure if either of those are original, but the one with the grease fitting was way past cashed. Car feels so much better, even without being aligned yet. Need to make some calls later today.
