The Sovol is a 24V printer. My 12V Letgo TronXY has its own issues (maintaining zero) but laughably has been more reliable than this one is on the whole.

I shaved some insulation off about 2" away from the cart. voltage holds steady at 23.5-24v until it hits temp then it goes to 20.5V or so and pulses around some which isn't surprising at all.

I've tried about 10 different PID tunes btw, I have an absolute shitton of them under my belt. Here's a screen shot of my warm up cycle, I'd be curious how it compares to others.

I think I'm hitting a limit around one of the safety measures where the rate of climb isn't high enough at the end so it shuts the heater off. I may be able to tweak that out in the FW if I can get it to build. Obviously don't want to disable it but to increase the time it takes absolutely.

Yeah, I'm a weird guy that prints weird things. Hatchbox PETG had been pretty difficult to print. Really a lot of difficulty with bed adhesion and initial layer. No supports. View attachment 92226View attachment 92227
I had issues with PETG and the creality glass. I ended up putting a PEI sheet on top of it and that solved all my petg adhesion issues. I don't even use anything, clean it with iso and that's it.

Ugh. I remember why I sold my MP Maker Select now. I forgot I swapped the board in it when I was having issues to try and weed out my problem I was having.

I really want to get into 3D printing again when I have time and space, but I still think Ill save up and just get a more expensive one with everything I want VS trying to do addons and tuning. That really wrecked my interest in it after awhile.

That would be cool, but I don't even see these on eBay.

Two of the cheapest ones I can find. Everything else is getting expensive. I wish I kept my old ones. I got lucky and found a gen 1 Supra and the wide body kit for it. I loved that car. I wonder if BrianG BrianG still has his.

How fast is this thing supposed to be?
With the 2.8 amp drivers and the moon's 125 oz in steppers I believe we be able to print pretty good quality at about 200 to 300 millimeters per second. And we'd be able to do rough drafts and probably have fairly good quality all the way up to 500mm per second print speed.
The volcano with the 50 watt pill should let us print fairly quick in up to 0.8 mm nozzle sizes but with the supervolcano hot end we'd be able to use 1.2 mm.
..... all while having a standalone Rpi4 Sentinel/extigusher system monitoring for fires or over Temps with polycarbonate.
gotta say between this and the wagn you must have a wild hare up your ass, you've beem getting tons done lately for some reason.
Finally gave up trying to do 2-3 people's jobs at work and they finally hired people.

Been doing a lot of printing lately......

I was at micro center yesterday and saw they actually carried the new BIQU H2 extruder ?...so I picked it up. Going to try to install it today.

Also I have been trying out a bunch of filament I had but never got around to trying. MC also has some new filament colors, twinkling and silk.

Also finally tried the Atomic clear PETG.. I am impressed how clear this can be. Will be awesome for light diffusers.
