Chevy's first ever electric Super Sport model is naturally the most powerful in the lineup. The Blazer SS delivers 557 hp and up to 648 lb-ft of torque with a performance-oriented all-wheel-drive setup. Up to 290 miles of range is available, just a bit less than the RS model.

The SS also comes complete with a special "Wide Open Watts" mode, or WOW. It's good for a zero-to-60 mph sprint in under 4 seconds as per GM's estimates.

If you haven't driven or at least gotten a ride in a newer and powerful EV, you're missing out. Clearly, they aren't for everyone yet due to charging times, range, and price levels. But just because they are relatively quiet, doesn't mean the fun factor isn't there for enthusiasts. Sure, we all appreciate a rip roaring throaty exhaust in a truly fast sports car. Although, even a 16 second Camaro or Mustang from 1985 can sound pretty good while still getting outpaced by your neighbor's Honda Odyssey.

But I bet most of us would rather enjoy the thrust and acceleration of a 12, 11, or even 10 second quarter mile vehicle, even if it's just making an electronic whirring noise while doing so.
